Material Handler- Day Shift

Red Dot Buildings is seeking a safety-focused, dependable Material Handling Specialist to move, organize and stage structural steel materials throughout our fabrication operation.
In this role, you will supply production lines with the raw steel, plate and structural components they need to maintain a continuous workflow. You will also prepare and load materials for outside fabrication partners when additional production capacity is needed.
The ideal candidate is an experienced equipment operator who works carefully, communicates well and takes pride in maintaining an organized staging yard. This is a hands-on position that primarily works outdoors and plays an important role in supporting our shop, logistics and project-delivery teams.

What You Will Do
Transport raw steel, plate, structural members and other components to designated production lines and work areas
Stage materials accurately and efficiently to help prevent production delays
Organize, bundle and load steel assemblies and materials onto 48-foot flatbed trailers
Verify material types, quantities, heat numbers and dimensions against bills of materials, shop orders and transportation documents
Document outbound shipments, including required signatures and photographs, before dispatch
Update inventory records, material logs and internal tracking systems as needed
Safely operate high-capacity forklifts, yard mules, side-loaders, overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment
Assist with inventory counts and material organization
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe staging yard
Communicate with shop supervisors, receiving personnel and shipping coordinators regarding material status and dispatch timelines
Assist with material sorting, special projects and other assigned responsibilities
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience operating high-capacity forklifts and yard mules
Experience moving or loading heavy materials, preferably structural steel or other industrial products
Ability to accurately match materials against bills of materials, shop orders or shipping documents
Strong attention to detail, particularly when verifying material quantities, dimensions and identification numbers
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with production, shipping, receiving and warehouse teams
Dependable, safety-conscious approach to daily work
Ability to stay organized and adjust to changing production priorities
