Plant ControllerPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced finance professional to oversee financial management for a large-scale manufacturing operation. This individual will serve as a key business partner to operational leadership, providing financial insight, performance analysis, planning support, and guidance to help drive business results.The position will have responsibility for the financial performance of the facility and will work closely with operations and corporate finance leadership to maintain strong financial discipline, improve processes, and support the organization's strategic objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & PlanningOversee the financial management and reporting activities supporting a manufacturing facility.Manage the annual planning process, periodic forecasts, monthly close, and management reporting.Review financial results and ensure accounting information is complete, accurate, and consistent with company policies and applicable standards.Serve as a financial advisor to operational leaders, translating financial information into practical business recommendations.Collaborate with corporate finance leadership on planning, reporting, and broader business initiatives.Business Performance & Cost AnalysisAnalyze operating results, financial trends, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improved financial performance.Partner with plant leadership to understand cost drivers and develop strategies to improve productivity and margins.Investigate significant variances between actual results and expectations and communicate findings and recommended actions to leadership.Help establish and monitor financial targets for the operation.Support continuous-improvement efforts by evaluating the financial impact of operational changes and process improvements.Manufacturing & Working CapitalPartner with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, supply chain, and other functional leaders on financial matters affecting the operation.Maintain appropriate accounting and reporting practices related to inventory and manufacturing costs.Support inventory verification activities and work with operational teams to address discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy.Analyze working capital and inventory trends and identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining appropriate controls.Provide financial perspective on operational decisions affecting production costs, materials, and resources.Capital & Strategic InitiativesProvide financial analysis and guidance for equipment purchases, facility investments, and other major business initiatives.Assist leadership in developing financial evaluations and business cases for proposed investments.Monitor approved investments and compare actual results with expected financial outcomes.Help ensure capital resources are allocated in accordance with business priorities and financial objectives.Governance, Controls & Risk ManagementMaintain an effective financial control environment within the operation.Ensure adherence to company accounting policies, internal control requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.Coordinate financial information and provide support for periodic internal and external reviews.Identify potential financial or operational risks and work with appropriate stakeholders to address them.Promote a culture centered on financial accuracy, accountability, compliance, and disciplined decision-making.Leadership & Team DevelopmentProvide direction and leadership to finance and accounting personnel supporting the manufacturing operation.Develop team capabilities through coaching, performance management, knowledge sharing, and professional development.Establish consistent processes and standards that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance function.Encourage collaboration between finance and operational teams and serve as a trusted resource to facility leadership.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.Approximately 10 or more years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance, with manufacturing experience strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience leading financial functions and developing accounting or finance professionals.Strong background in financial planning, forecasting, cost analysis, management reporting, and operational finance.Understanding of manufacturing accounting, inventory, and cost structures.Experience working with enterprise financial systems and planning/reporting applications.Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and strong analytical skills.Excellent communication and business-partnering abilities.Professional fluency in English.
