Banquet Chef
Key Responsibilities Banquet & Event Culinary Execution Execute all banquet, catering, and private event menus for hotel operations and restaurant events Oversee food preparation, timing, and plating for events of varying sizes and service styles Ensure menus are executed according to BEOs (Banquet Event Orders), event timelines, and client expectations Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all events Event Operations & Coordination Collaborate with Events, Sales, and Operations teams to review BEOs, menus, and special requests Participate in event walk-throughs, tastings, and pre-event meetings as needed Communicate staffing needs, prep requirements, and equipment needs for each event Adapt to last-minute changes while maintaining quality and service standards Restaurant & Special Events Support restaurant-led events, buyouts, tastings, and holiday programming Assist with menu development and execution for seasonal and special events Coordinate with restaurant kitchen leadership to ensure smooth integration between daily service and events Kitchen Leadership & Team Management Lead, train, and supervise banquet cooks and event kitchen staff Delegate prep and service duties effectively for events Maintain a positive, organized, and professional kitchen environment Enforce food safety, sanitation, and health department standards at all times Inventory, Cost Control & Compliance Assist with ordering, inventory management, and minimizing food waste for events Monitor food costs and portion control during event execution Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and hotel operating standards Qualifications Proven experience as a Banquet Chef, Event Chef, or Senior Sous Chef in a hotel or high-volume event environment Strong knowledge of banquet service styles (plated, buffet, family-style, passed apps) Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously Excellent organizational and communication skills Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain) Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Lift up to 50 lbs Work in a fast-paced kitchen and event environment Work Environment Hotel banquet kitchens Restaurant kitchens Indoor and outdoor event spaces More detail about Florence Grill, please visit
