As a hospitality services company, we create smiles by delivering exceptional experiences for patients, visitors, and guests.Job TitleGuest Service Captain – Valet Shift Lead, SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, St. Louis.SUMMARYThe Guest Service Captain orchestrates the service experience for hotel guests while working alongside coworkers to exceed service standards. Under the direction of the Account Manager, they handle additional coordination, administration, and troubleshooting tasks. Though not a managerial role, they may handle critical issues and make urgent judgment calls.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMaintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, staff, and coworkers.Acknowledge and greet guests within 30 seconds of arrival to create favorable first impressions.Participate in "The Show" and deliver "Aggressive Hospitality" to guests.Open and secure all vehicle and hotel doors for guests; check in arriving guests and explain parking and retrieval procedures.Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously, maintaining accuracy under pressure.Use proper phone etiquette and post in appropriate areas when not assisting guests.Conduct an effective room presentation when providing bell services; assist with delivery and pick-up of items to guest rooms.Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; maintain detailed knowledge of the client's facility and local amenities.Promote teamwork through leading by example, effective communication, and delegating routine roles.Issue claim checks to guests after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks before issuing keys.Complete ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage surveys, and claim checks for all vehicles.Secure all keys on a belt clip or locked key box; ensure no lift services are offered to guests and check wheelchair safety and cleanliness.Assist the Account Manager with building shift schedules; notify associates of changes or openings; manage revenue collection and reconcile at shift end.Compile accurate shift reports and paperwork; reconcile revenue and tickets each shift.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High school diploma or GED.Licensure / Certifications: Must be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check, MVR, and drug screen; complete Towne Park Wheelchair Safety Training.Work Experience: Six (6) months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.Knowledge: Valid driver's license with a clean record; essential instruction comprehension and writing skills.Skills: Manual transmission driving; clear communication in one-to-one and small group settings; reasoning and understanding of written/oral instructions.Mathematical Skills: Perform basic arithmetic, understand time systems, calculate rates.COMPENSATIONHourly base pay: $13–$15 per hour plus $3–$7 per hour in tips.WORK SCHEDULEWeekdays, weekends, all shifts.BENEFITSEligible employees can enroll in accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, telemedicine benefits, and the company's 401(k) retirement savings plan.
