Operations Coordinator for Art Center

Job Title: Center Operations Administrator Position Type: Full Time, Salaried, Exempt Location: Elk Rapids, Michigan General Summary The Reid Family Foundation is seeking an individual to work as the Art Center Operations Coordinator at Art & Connection. This person will work primarily to support the Center Operations Director and Program and Marketing Director to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of Art & Connection’s programming, projects and systems. The ideal candidate will be highly flexible, resourceful in learning independently, and able to work in a fast paced, artistic environment. Responsibilities: 1. Manage the operation of the Imagination Station including working with volunteer/s to provide quality projects and crafts for children. 2. Recruits, schedules, trains, and supervises volunteers. 3. Trains teachers on Art & Connection’s opening and closing processes as well as policies and procedures. 4. Creates project lists for volunteers and oversees project completion. 5. Manages the set up and clean up of classes including preparing project spaces, emptying trash cans, covering tables, sweeping floors, etc. 6. Answers phones, greets visitors, and conducts building tours. 7. Completes and maintains the supply inventory including shipping and returning unused or unneeded supplies. 8. Collaborates with the team to create and maintain the art center inventory system and standard organization tracking system for supplies. Trains team on the system as needed. 9. Assists and collaborates with the team in the planning, execution, and completion of all event activities. 10. Assists Art Center Director in the creation and maintenance of record keeping process, both digital and hard copy, including filing of receipts, inventory of supplies, use of Square, donation process, other important documentation, etc. 11. Assists Program and Marketing Director with maintaining and updating the Art & Connection website. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 1. Associate’s degree required with at least 5+ years working professionally. 2. Strong organizational skills 3. Strong artistic abilities; prefer progressional experience. 4. Teaching or training experience a big plus. 5. Proficient with graphic design using software such as Canva. 6. Ability to think creatively. 7. Previous non-profit experience preferred. 8. Competence with technology including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Google Suite also able to learn new software independently. 9. Proficient with social media such as Facebook and Instagram. 10. Some experience with website design a plus. 11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 12. Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely fashion. 13. Proven ability to learn independently, take initiative and problem solve. 14. Ability to adapt to changing needs. Location: Elk Rapids, Michigan Salary: $25.00 per hour Schedule: Monday – Friday with occasional Saturdays and weekends as requested. This position is temporary until the end of 2024. At that time, it will then be determined if we will hire full time in 2025. This is NOT an entry level position.
