JUDICIAL AIDEGENERAL SUMMARYThe purpose of this job is to provide comprehensive administrative, operational, and legal support to an assigned Circuit or Probate Court Judge. This position serves as the primary point of coordination for courtroom operations, case management, and judicial workflow, ensuring cases proceed efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws, court rules, and procedures. The Judicial Aide functions as a subject matter expert in court processes and independently manages complex case activities across multiple court divisions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESIndependently manage and monitor the progression of assigned cases; review filings, ensure completeness, track deadlines, and prepare the judge and court staff for hearings and case decisions.Maintain and update electronic case management systems to ensure accurate case status and documentation.Coordinate, schedule, and organize court hearings, conferences, and judicial calendars.Brief the judge on case matters, hearings, and required actions.Oversee courtroom operations, including administering oaths, supporting jury processes, receiving verdicts, and maintaining courtroom order.Operate, troubleshoot, and support courtroom technology, including audio-visual systems and video conferencing tools.Ensure accurate recording and documentation of court proceedings.Serve as liaison between the judge, attorneys, court staff, law enforcement, external agencies, and the public.Manage court dockets, coordinate communications, and facilitate efficient case flow.Represent the court in a professional manner when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.Conduct legal research and draft legal documents including court orders, correspondence, jury instructions, and reports.Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court rules.Assist with development and implementation of court policies and procedures.Train, mentor, and provide guidance to interns and newly hired judicial aides or court staff.Provide leadership support and assist with onboarding and knowledge transfer.Perform related work as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, legal studies, business administration, public administration, or a related field7 to 5 years of experience in a legal or court-related environment.
