Head Systematic Risk Management

OverviewA leading global multi-manager investment platform is seeking a Director of Systematic Risk Management to join its central risk function. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing risk across systematic and quantitative investment strategies, working closely with portfolio managers, researchers, and senior leadership.This is a high-impact position reporting to the CIO with broad visibility across the firm, focused on ensuring robust risk oversight, enhancing frameworks, and supporting the continued growth of systematic businesses.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide independent risk oversight across a broad suite of systematic / quantitative strategiesLead the design and enhancement of central risk frameworks specific to systematic investing (factor risk, signal correlation, crowding, liquidity, model risk)Partner closely with alpha researchers and quant teams to review signal construction, data inputs, and model assumptionsEvaluate model robustness and stability, including sensitivity to inputs, overfitting risks, and regime dependencyOversee factor exposures and unintended bets, ensuring alignment with firm-wide risk tolerancesMonitor and escalate risks related to signal decay, model drift, and cross-strategy correlationsDrive improvements in risk analytics, infrastructure, and data quality in collaboration with technology teamsContribute to risk governance, including risk committees and senior leadership reportingEstablish best practices and standardization of risk methodologies across systematic teamsMentor junior team members and help build out the central systematic risk capabilityKey Requirements8-15 years of experience in risk management or quantitative research at a quantitative investment management firm with strong experience overseeing risk managemet practices.Deep understanding of systematic investment strategies and quantitative models.Strong Equities Product Knowledge.Deep knowledge of factor models, portfolio construction, and risk decomposition techniques.Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL) with the ability to engage in data-driven analysisProven ability to influence senior stakeholders, including PMs and CIO-level leadershipExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex quantitative concepts
