This role involves providing inpatient speech therapy services to patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting. Winter Haven Hospital is designated as a Get With The Guidelines - Stroke Gold Plus and accredited by the Commission on Cancer. Specialty units/programs also include cardiovascular ICU.Acute Speech Therapist Pool/PRN Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care.Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for continued recovery.Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to students and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates as needed.Qualifications:Required:Master's degree in Speech-Language PathologyFlorida State License in Speech-Language PathologyCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHABasic Life Support (BLS) CertificationPreferred:1+ year of clinical experience in an inpatient or acute care settingExperience with modified barium swallow studies and dysphagia managementFacility:BayCare Health System, Rehab Services Main-WHHLocation: Winter Haven Hospital - Winter Haven, FLStatus: Pool, Exempt: NoShift Hours: varies/DaysWeekend Work: OccasionalOn Call: NoHow often will this team member be working remotely?
