KEY SUCCESS FACTORS (top 3 must haves) 1. Deep Engineering & Architecture Expertise (Execution-Focused) 10+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or platform engineering within large-scale enterprise environments Strong hands-on experience with: Microservices & service-oriented architecture API design (REST, GraphQL) Event-driven systems (Kafka or similar messaging platforms) Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Proven ability to operate across: Hands-on coding and prototyping Architecture design and system modeling Guiding and influencing engineering teams Demonstrated track record of delivering working, production-ready solutions, not just conceptual designs 2. Service Decomposition, Modernization & Platform Transformation Strong experience with: Domain-Driven Design (DDD) Service decomposition and capability modeling Distributed data architectures and integration patterns Hands-on experience: Breaking down monoliths or fragmented systems into reusable services Building shared service layers across teams and domains Implementing strangler pattern and incremental modernization strategies Proven ability to design systems that prioritize: Reuse across teams and regions Clear service boundaries and ownership Long-term scalability and maintainability 3. Service Decomposition & Enterprise Modernization Strong experience with domain-driven design (DDD), service decomposition, and distributed system design Hands-on track record breaking down monoliths/fragmented systems into reusable service layers Experience leading modernization efforts using incremental approaches (e.g., strangler pattern) with a focus on reuse, scalability, and clean service boundaries 3.
