MWD Field Specialist Trainee

MWD Field Specialist TraineeThe MWD Field Specialist Trainee's primary responsibility is to participate in training experiences, learn new skills, and to demonstrate increasing proficiency and expertise with MWD Field Specialist responsibilities. Within 12 weeks in the MWD Field Specialist Trainee program, the trainee must learn to operate, troubleshoot and make repairs with little or no supervision, while always maintaining a focus on safety.Make sound and quick decisions to support all operations while maintaining a continuously safe working environmentWork with an emphasis on individual safety and safety for others, including coworkers and third partiesMaintain awareness on location to safely move around work environment with many moving objects and hazard areasLearn to recognize and accurately inventory all appropriate tools on locationBecome proficient in tool assembly and surface gear rig upRemain on well site for the duration of directional operation or until released by customer/supervisorMonitor, troubleshoot and make necessary repairs to equipment in operation while drillingLearn to become proficient in MS Office Suite and other related computer software programs required for job completionLearn to accurately qualify survey dataPrioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneouslyWork independently and prioritize tasks based on operational needsOther duties as assignedAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writing coworkers, internal and external customers, and third partiesBend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl throughout the work shiftDemonstrate clear communication skills including the ability to read, write and speak English as well as understand and promptly follow verbal and written instructions in EnglishClearly judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third partiesAble to discuss and explain job details (current jobs and past job runs)Ability to take direction from multiple managers/coordinators/trainersWilling to work extended schedules, including extra days, occasional nights, weekends and holidaysHigh School Diploma or GED6 months stable work history or military service or technical/university enrollment history in last 12 months.Must be able to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.Basic computer skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.)Oilfield related work historyElectrical, mechanical, or shop experience a plusThis position requires the person to work in various environments to include office, shops and worksites often in remote locations for 20+ days at a time with exposure to all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, cold, heat, day, night, etc.) and employees will be expected to properly use designated personal protective equipment (PPE). The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
