Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.SUMMARYA Core Underwriter will have an assigned agency base and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, quoting, and declining new and renewal business up to a manual premium of $250K.Will have designated underwriting goals assigned annually - including top line written premium, revenue, new business hit ratio, renewal retention and overall profitability of written book of business.Foster the growth of our carrier and broker relationships.Responsible for maintaining a professional relationship with fellow colleagues and piers while supporting the Workers' Compensation Division as well as all departments that interact with Underwriting.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude the following, (other duties may be assigned):Review, analyze, underwrite, quote, bind & endorse new and renewal business up to a manual premium of $250KMaintain and manage relations with AGIA producers, through e-mail, telephone or in person meetingsBuild and maintain favorable carrier relationships over the phone, e-mail and personal interactionResponsible for field visits to assigned agency base in order to foster relationships and provide information and education regarding our various programs and appetitesMeet deadlines and goals set forth by managementMaintain a professional relationship with fellow colleages and piers while supporting the Workers' Compensation Division as well as all departments that interact with UnderwritingAdhere to Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Service StandardsCarrier knowledge - understand and adhere to carrier guidelines including systems & processesInput data in risk evaluations - updates to previously prepared evals or rush submissions may need all required data entered. Rushes may also require the UW to order Compline, Experian Report, Contractor's License & Website informationRate and/or quote multi-state accounts in various carrier systemsUse sound independent underwriting judgement and discretion to properly evaluate risk and price to the compliance of underwriting guidelines, for new & renewal business within established underwriting authoritySend Non-Renewal or Conditional Non-Renewal Notification when applicableRequest additional information from brokers as needed to underwrite new businessCommunicate with brokers on status of quote and other issues of concernProcess bind confirmation documents, assign policy numbers, order loss control when applicable, complete file organization for issuance as neededProcess declines and close outs as neededComplete cancel/rewrite policies in accordance with carrier guidelines and company proceduresResponsible for carrier clearance as required by programAssist underwriters and brokers with various tasks or requests such as higher-level endorsements, troubleshooting, etcAssist other underwriters when workloads demand or when others are out of the officeHeld accountable for meeting production, retention, hit ratio and profitability goals set forth by managementSuccessfully pass internal and carrier file audit reviewsCERTIFICATES LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONINS, AU, ARM or CPCU classes would be a plus, but not required for the position.Broker's License from The California Department of Insurance would be a plus, but not required for the position.Pay Range$74,500.00 - $85,000.00 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.Teammate Benefits & Total Well-BeingWe go beyond standard benefits, focusing on the total well-being of our teammates, including:Health Benefits: Medical/Rx, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability InsuranceFinancial Benefits: ESPP; 401k; Student Loan Assistance; Tuition ReimbursementMental Health & Wellness: Free Mental Health & Enhanced Advocacy ServicesBeyond Benefits: Paid Time Off, Holidays, Preferred Partner Discounts and more.Not reflective of all benefits.
