Executive Catering Chef

About Us: Nosh by Concord Market is transitioning into the full-service catering division of Concord Market, which will soon be opening a second location on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we are seeking a talented and entrepreneurial Executive Chef to lead our catering operations out of our kitchen in Concord, MA. We specialize in gourmet food for both on-premises and off-premises events, and we’re committed to delivering extraordinary culinary experiences that exceed our client's expectations. Position Overview: The Executive Chef will work directly with our Catering and Event Sales Manager, to develop and oversee our catering operations. This role is ideal for a creative and visionary chef with a passion for catering and a drive to build and expand a new business. Key Responsibilities: Developing unique and cuisine-appropriate menus for each season. Collaborating with the Catering and Event Sales Manager to set item prices. Staying current on developing trends in the restaurant industry. Maintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet the company standards and health code regulations. Monitoring inventory and purchasing supplies and food from approved vendors. Keeping food, operating and labor costs within prescribed margins. Hiring, training, scheduling and supervising kitchen staff. Assisting and directing kitchen staff in meal preparation, creation, plating and delivery. Identifying and introducing new culinary techniques. Preparing meals and completing prep support as needed. Reporting financial information to Management/Ownership. Working required hours, including nights, weekends and holidays when necessary, to ensure event success. Learning Caterease and using it to keep track of recipes and food costs. Creating and updating recipe books. Qualifications: Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar role within a catering or high-end restaurant environment. Strong expertise in gourmet cooking techniques, menu development, and event catering. Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Excellent client-facing abilities with a focus on personalized service and relationship-building. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
