Pediatrics Phone Triage Advice Nurse LVN /Medical Assistant

Demonstrates clinical knowledge of common Pediatrics Telephone Triage protocols. Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task. Electronic medical records experience preferred. Strong organizational skills. DUTIES: Performs pediatrics telephone screening and advice utilizing approved protocols and guidelines under physician supervision. Responsible for handling all sick phone calls. Notifies pharmacies of new prescriptions and authorizations of refills as ordered by physicians. Assist in referrals. Assist in administrative, clerical and record keeping task. Verifies patient demographics and insurance information to maintain accuracy for the billing department. CLINICAL SKILLS: Triage patients, collects pertinent information, recognizes the urgency of the patient's problem and routes to physicians as needed. Returns phone calls in a timely matter according to the office policy. Schedule's patient's appointments. Triage and manage all urgent and emergent task. Accurately documents patient care per office protocol. DEPARTMENT EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS: Organizes and completes daily requirements and responsibilities assigned. Telephone message management -Ensures prompt and efficient return of messages according to establish office policy. Troubleshoots and resolves problem calls. Able to respond to changing circumstances and prioritize patients needs. Responds to urgent and emergent situation in a calm and capable manner. Utilizes good judgement and problem solving ability. Assist in other departments as assigned to meet staffing needs.
