QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in social work or related field required.
Years of experience in a social service capacity may substitute for education in a 2:1 ratio.
Knowledge of local community resources
Demonstrate a positive attitude & an ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds & circumstances
Able to maintain a non-judgmental demeanor, using a professional approach and maintaining boundaries with clients
Able to handle crisis/emergency services for the homeless & working poor by utilizing crisis intervention, & conflict resolution skills
A proven ability to maximize services with budgetary constraints
Ability to quickly become proficient in Salvation Army approved Social Service programs, network requirements, and Link 2 Feed program from United Food Bank
Ability to work efficiently on a diverse and cohesive team
Computer literate & proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Publisher.
Ability to work in an office setting & operate office equipment
Must be able to type 50 wpm.
Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license and clean MVR & pass The Salvation Army Fleet Safety e-learning
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibility of the operation of all Salvation Army Social Service programs to include but not limited to the following:
Food Bank Program
Utility & Rental Assistance Program
Sally's Closet
Winter Warming Shelter
Pathway of Hope Program
Seasonal Assistance (Thanksgiving & Christmas)
Summer Camp
Back to School Program
Local grant funding
For the above programs be responsible for the following aspects of each program
Determining eligibility
Maintaining Records
Monitoring Costs
Overseeing staff
Securing and training of volunteers, recording all statistics relating to same
Inventory control
Intake of clients
Distribution of funds and goods
Promotion of special events
Case Management
Securing outside vendors to aide clients i.e., motels, transportation companies and other related providers who can assist clients.
As part of the office procedures, record keeping and supplies the following responsibilities would be required
Recording and filing (electronically) of all casework documents
Prepare and submit all required daily, weekly and monthly reports and statistics.
Communicate the supply needs of the Family Service Office to your supervisor
Community Outreach and Networking to include but not be limited to the following:
Work with local community partners to enhance Salvation Army social service programs
Attend community Social Service Impact meetings, public relations & special events and seminars as directed
Build positive working relationships with ancillary entities that provide support for Salvation Army initiatives
Responsible for seasonal activities with requirements to include but not limited to the following
Thanksgiving Intake & distribution procedures
Christmas intake & distribution procedures
Networking with other holiday providers in the community
Helping with the angel tree program, especially with the production of angel tree tags
Case Management
Oversee all aspects of day-to-day case management
Maintain a client caseload
Complete intake on all eligible clients & maintain the Well Sky database
Provide supervision and direction to social service staff
Work collaboratively in striving to provide service excellence to clients
Answer incoming calls, as needed and assist with the overall operation of the office.
Observe and ensure all Salvation Army, city, county, state, and federal rules, regulations, and guidelines are followed.
Assist with Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) intake & assist in receiving & processing food donations for EDS.
Research, create, & propose alternative methodologies of service delivery to extend outreach of social service programs.
Develop and propose new programs to enhance current offerings of the Prescott Corps Social Service Department
Work in conjunction with the Divisional Social Service Director & Divisional Grant Writer, to enhance & expand programs.
Research & explore opportunities for local grant funds available in support of current & proposed social service programs.
Other duties as assigned as related to the position of Social Service Coordinator.
