Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Sterling Engineering is partnering with a plastics packaging manufacturer to bring on an EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety efforts at their Chilhowie, VA facility. This is a high-impact role where you’ll own site-wide safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and help drive a strong safety culture across the plant.This role is fully onsite. Relocation assistance is available for candidates open to moving to the area.What You’ll Be Doing:Lead all environmental, health, and safety programs for the facilityEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulationsDevelop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and training programsConduct incident investigations and drive root cause corrective actionsManage environmental permits and regulatory agency interactionsAnalyze safety data and lead continuous improvement initiativesLead safety committees and promote a proactive safety culturePartner with plant leadership to support operational goalsWhat We’re Looking For:Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Environmental Engineering, or related field3–5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulationsExperience leading safety programs, training, and compliance initiativesProven ability to conduct investigations and root cause analysisExperience working with environmental permits and auditsStrong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levelsISO 45001 or OSHA VPP experience is a plusCompensation & Benefits:$115,000 – $135,000 base salary15% annual bonusRelocation bonus (paid on first paycheck) Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401k
