Requirements: Degree or Equivalency in Music Therapy Board Certified-Music Therapist (We will consider candidates who are eligible for the exam with the right skill set and growth mindset) Licensed Music Therapist (CT) or eligible with intent to obtain Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation At least 1yr experience as a full-time music therapist preferred (We will consider new grads with a desire to actively engage in supervision and continuing education). Background in mental health preferred Experience writing clinical reports preferred Background in working with ASD and developmental disorders Live in CT or be willing to relocate Applicants should be strong team players, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and be confident in their clinical decision-making. We are looking for the right match for our team and our clients; we believe in supervision and continuing education and will help support clinicians in growing in areas they have had limited experience. Hours: Our part-time caseloads have the opportunity to grow to full-time but we are also open to clinicians wishing to stay part-time and cover hours as needed. Full-time positions start at 30hrs a week and grow to 40hrs per week. We are currently seeking Sunday-Thursday and Tuesday- Saturday clinicians. Our part-time caseloads range from approximately 15-29hrs/ week. Opportunities are available to pick up additional hours for coverage of another clinician’s caseload. We are also seeking per-diem clinicians to assist with coverage during clinician absences and short-term assignments. Hours will be based upon need and may range from 0-40hrs/ week. The work week is comprised of direct in-person client contact, office hours for planning and documentation, and traveling between clients. All of our team members (per-diem exempt in most cases) attend team meetings and participate in co-treatment sessions. Our clinical positions include daytime, afternoon, and evening hours based on the needs of our clients. Sessions are generally conducted between the hours of 8:00am-7:30pm. Location: We have openings throughout much of Connecticut. Our biggest areas of need are currently the shoreline, Tolland/ Windham Counties, New Haven County, and Southern Fairfield County. Our clinic is located in Southington and our team reports to the clinic every Tuesday for team meetings. Team-based Model: Infinity works as a team-based model. We believe in collaborating on cases, and we utilize internal reporting procedures as well as team meetings to prepare to cover cases. Our clinicians meet weekly for team meetings and supervision. Our team members frequently meet outside of sessions to collaborate on session planning, data/documentation, and general support. Salary: Wages are paid based on experience related to the position. This position starts at $21.15/hr for entry-level, board-certified clinicians. Higher rates of pay are available for seasoned clinicians and those with additional trainings/ certifications that will add to our team. You will be paid for client contact time, data/ documentation, planning, travel time between clients, office assignments, etc. Responsibilities: As a member of our clinical team, you will be expected to provide individual and group music therapy sessions to children and adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, neurological needs, wellness needs, etc. You will be expected to write treatment plans, keep accurate data, write clinical reports, and maintain client schedules. In addition, you may be asked to fulfill non-clinical responsibilities such as teaching music lessons or providing music enrichment groups. Populations/ Types of Sessions: Our therapists are healthcare LEADERS, and we strive to provide high-quality services for everyone we serve. The most common populations served at Infinity include children diagnosed with Autism, Down Syndrome, and communication disorders, individuals with mental health needs, and adults with developmental disabilities within a group home or day program setting. We also serve older adults, provide perinatal music therapy, and lead workshops/ professional development within the community. Our services are spread out between in clinic, in home, in school (including IEP services), and in group home settings. We also receive referrals for adults in memory care settings, drug and alcohol rehab, and individuals without a diagnosis looking for music enrichment/ music lessons. You can effectively communicate in written and spoken English. You are a flexible, go-with-the-flow type of person. You are a strong clinical writer. You can work independently and seamlessly transition to a group model. You can recognize the need for changes in the clinical environment and adapt as necessary. You feel like you can talk to just about anyone! You can have a “thick skin” during tough clinical situations and not let them eat away at you. We definitely want to hear from you if… You are comfortable using sign language and/or Adaptive Communication Programs/ devices within music therapy. You have experience teaching adaptive music lessons. You are interested in getting trained in music therapy assisted childbirth or are already trained. You have a strong mental health background. You speak Spanish. You are able to balance your work and your personal life and actively utilize self-care strategies. You have a sense of humor. You have a background in private practice. You have additional certifications/ training beyond your MT-BC You understand IDEA and IEPs and are comfortable advocating and explaining music therapy in a multi-disciplinary team environment. You have at least two years of clinical experience. You have spent time reflecting on ableistic language/ practices and are working to break down barriers. This position is NOT for you if… You are unable to reliably report to your sessions and meetings or pick up sessions (per-diem). The thought of asking a question to a supervisor makes you nervous. You are not comfortable with traveling to your appointments. You are constantly filled with self-doubt. You are not looking for a long-term position.
