This Software Engineer position will be part of a strong team providing software engineering support to design, develop, operate and maintain software programs across multiple platforms, technologies and business units. Software engineering support also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and implementation functions. Responsibilities will include the production of new systems and web applications, as well as support of legacy systems.NET systems.Develop and maintain ColdFusion systems.Design SQL and Oracle databases and work closely with database administrators to implement them into production environments.Understand and follow modern agile Software Development Lifecycle processes & procedures.Work with and follow best practices in a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) environment, in close collaboration with Infrastructure and Cybersecurity colleagues.Work closely with customers, project managers, and other developers to understand the user's needs and deliver effective solutions.Troubleshoot software production issues.Assist with requirements gathering projects on enterprise-wide solutions.The software engineer will work with other project software engineers, interface with project managers, and meet with customer subject matter experts as needed.Strong ability to analyze documents and categorize appropriately.Work independently, as well as on a team and with minimal supervision.Work well under pressure and independently prioritize workload, while working on multiple projects.including thorough knowledge of proper grammar, advanced vocabulary, spelling, editing and proofreading skills.Proficient using Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and industry-standard computer software and databases.High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information.Sufficient fine motor skills for the use of computers, calculators with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time.Visual and communications ability adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.Ability to travel by vehicle or aircraft, and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business or related field and five years of IT experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.S. government security clearance (which requires U.NET and C#.Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server.Hands-on experience working with jQuery in modern web applications.Practical experience using Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD, and work management.Practical experience in an Agile environment.Benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, 401k with employer match, dental, vision, health insurance plans through the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) program, as well as life and disability benefits.OSC Technical Solutions does not discriminate, and the company provides equal employment opportunity for all employees and applicants without regard to race, religion, color, sex, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship status, age, marital status, pregnancy or parenthood, handicap or disability, genetics, veteran status or any other legally protected characteristic.
