Systems Engineer (Expert)Chantilly, Virginia, United StatesSystems Engineer (Expert)Clearance Required: Active TS/SCILocation: Chantilly, VAMinimum Years' Experience: 18 yearsWe are seeking an Expert Systems Engineer to provide high-level technical leadership in support of complex geospatial intelligence systems across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other federal partners.This individual will support the Government in applying a multi-disciplinary systems engineering approach to requirements development, solution design, integration, testing, resiliency, and lifecycle management for enterprise-scale mission systems.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Government in systems engineering efforts across large-scale GEOINT mission environmentsTranslate mission needs into technical requirements and system capabilitiesEvaluate and improve system architectures, workflows, and cloud-based servicesProvide technical recommendations on solution designs and emerging technologiesPerform requirements analysis, traceability, and allocation to architecture componentsSupport systems integration, verification, validation, and performance engineering activitiesLead or support:Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)Course of Action (COA) developmentTrade studiesEngineering assessmentsContribute to strategic planning, risk management, interface design, and project executionProvide expert guidance on aligning mission vision, strategy, and technical capabilitiesCoordinate engineering efforts across organizational and agency boundariesMentor and oversee junior and senior systems engineering staffApply knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environmentsThe ideal candidate is a senior technical leader who can bridge mission needs and engineering execution while driving innovation across highly complex intelligence systems.Location: This position is fully onsite in Chantilly, VARequired QualificationsMaster's degree in:Systems EngineeringEngineeringPhysicsMathematicsComputer ScienceInformation TechnologyOperations ResearchEngineering ManagementManagement Information Systemsor another related STEM fieldEquivalent expert-level, 18+ years' of systems engineering experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements18+ years' experience supporting Government or industry in one or more of the following:DoD/IC Acquisition ProcessesRequirements developmentPPBESLarge-scale System of Systems environmentsCloud-based enterprise architecturesStrong understanding of the full systems engineering lifecycleTS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polyPreferred QualificationsDoctorate in a related technical disciplineExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologiesSoftware Development Framework certificationInternational Council on Systems Engineering Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certificationProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseActive participation in professional organizations such as:United States Geospatial Intelligence FoundationOpen Geospatial ConsortiumAmerican Society for Photogrammetry and Remote SensingExtensive experience in geospatial intelligenceExperience designing solutions using:Cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)Big Data platformsAutomation and AI/ML technologiesExpertise in one or more of the following:PhotogrammetryRemote sensingImage scienceGeographic Information Systems (GIS)GeomaticsInformation science
