Refrigeration Technician

Job Title: HVAC/R Technician Department: Service Reports to: Service Manager Job Description/Qualifications: Perform maintenance, repairs, and installation of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems to include, but not limited to ice machines, walk-in/reach-in coolers/freezers, Rack systems, RTUs, split systems, air handlers, exhaust fans, make-up air fans, and controls. Must have electrical knowledge as it relates to Refrigeration Equipment and controls. Ability to read electrical schematics. Ability to read/interpret blueprints. Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service. Well versed with smart devices (e.g., Android phone and tablet) is a plus. Relies on direction from management and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and the ability to work and communicate with peers and customers. Work on call per the schedule Skills/Qualifications: 5+ years experience Problem-Solving Skills Safety Conscious Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written Strong listening skills Strong computer/technical skills Multitasker License Required: MA Refrigeration License preferred Valid Driver’s License EPA Universal Certification OSHA 10 Other: An individual must show a willingness to continue developing skills in the trade as part of the continued learning process. Also the individual who holds this position may be required to take part in continued related coursework. Must maintain a safe and acceptable driving record at all times. Able to assist with office-related duties such as collection calls, shipping and receiving, shop maintenance and other related operational duties when necessary. Physical Requirements: Lifting (approx 50 lbs.), climbing ladders and stairs; bending or stooping; extended periods of walking; regular exposure to weather conditions; operating motor vehicles; and ability to operate power and/or hand tools.
