Special Education Teacher - Minneapolis, MN

A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher working exclusively with Setting 4 students, serving K-12 individuals with the most severe disabilities and challenging behaviors. This role requires a professional experienced in high-needs special education environments who is comfortable supporting students with intensive support needs.Location: Coon Rapids, MNDuration: February 9, 2026, through June 5, 2026Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunchSchool Setting: K-12, Setting 4 onlyKey Responsibilities:Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support to students with severe disabilities and complex behavioral challengesDevelop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to Setting 4 learnersCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including paraprofessionals and therapists, to ensure cohesive supportMonitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of behavior and instructional outcomesMaintain a safe and supportive classroom environment in accordance with district policiesQualifications:Valid Minnesota teaching license at Tier 3 or Tier 4 levelExperience working with Setting 4 students or similar high-need populationsStrong classroom management skills and ability to implement behavior intervention plansCommitment to maintaining student confidentiality and professional communicationReliable transportation and comfort commuting to Coon Rapids locationThis role provides an opportunity to deliver meaningful services to students requiring intensive special education support.
