Unit Renovations Project Manager

PREG’s specialty is in the creation and execution of complex affordable housing transactions in partnership with governmental agencies and non profit organizations.In addition to multifamily, the company also owns a small portfolio of industrial buildings and mobile home parks.Position OverviewThe Unit Renovation Project Manager supports the planning, execution, and tracking of interior unit renovation projects across a multifamily portfolio. This role combines project coordination responsibilities with analytical and administrative functions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with asset strategy. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working across construction, asset management, and operations teams.Key Responsibilities:Project CoordinationCoordinate day to day execution of unit renovation projects across multiple propertiesTrack unit turns, renovation schedules, and project milestones while identifying efficiencies and ensuring budgets are metWork with property management, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely unit access and completionAssist in developing scopes of work and standardized renovation packagesMonitor project timelines and proactively identify delays or risksConduct or assist with unit walks, punch lists, and quality control inspectionsMaintain consistent communication with on site teams and stakeholdersBudgeting & Cost TrackingTrack renovation budgets at the unit, property, and portfolio levelReview invoices and ensure alignment with approved scopes and budgetsAssist in identifying cost overruns and variance explanationsSupport bid leveling and vendor comparison processesMaintain cost databases for materials, labor, and completed renovationsData Analysis & ReportingMaintain and update renovation tracking reports and dashboardsAnalyze renovation performance, including:Cost per unitTurn timesROI and rent premium captureSupport asset management team with reporting on renovation progress and KPIsIdentify trends and recommend process improvements based on dataAdministrative SupportOrganize and maintain project documentation, contracts, and scopesAssist with vendor onboarding and compliance such as insurance and W9sPrepare weekly and monthly renovation status reportsSupport internal coordination across construction, asset management, and property operationsEnsure data integrity across project tracking systems such as Excel, Yardi, and BannerQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Real Estate, Finance, or related field preferred2 to 5 years of experience in construction coordination, multifamily renovations, or similar roleStrong proficiency in Excel required, experience with project tracking tools is a plusFamiliarity with multifamily operations and unit turn processes preferredAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication, and problem solving abilitiesPreferred SkillsExperience with renovation or capital improvement projectsBasic understanding of construction scopes, pricing, and sequencingExposure to budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysisExperience with property management or construction software such as Yardi, Procore, or BannerKey CompetenciesOrganization and time managementAnalytical thinkingCross functional coordinationAttention to detail, accountability, and follow throughReporting StructureReports to: Director of ConstructionWorks closely with: Property Managers, Contractors, Asset Management, and AccountingSuccess MetricsOn time completion of unit renovationsBudget adherence and cost controlAccuracy of reporting and data trackingReduction in turn times and downtimeBenefits + CompensationSalary range: $130,000 to $145,000 target rangeBenefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D, 401K with company match, paid time off, and holidaysThe Company is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
