Forward Logistics is an intrastate and interstate motor carrier specializing in Loose Cargo Load (LCL), Full Container Load (FCL), Full Trailer Load (FTL), oversized cargo, and special project cargo delivery. In human words, we move cargo from point A to point B on the road with a truck. ARE YOU ONE OF US? This position belongs to the Operations Team and reports to the Operations Manager. The Logistics Clerk will be responsible for coordinating logistics activity and providing customer support on freight movement. Job Descriptions: Operations Management Implement the company's overall values, mission and strategic goals. Create detailed business plans designed to attain predetermined goals. Provide direction and leadership to all staff at this facility. Develop and manage a comprehensive strategy for operation and financial performance. Direct, lead and evaluate employees' work and ensuring a healthy corporate culture. Manage the branch’s day-to-day operations and generation of revenue to ensure it grows continuously. Collaborate with President and other managers on business development and interdepartmental issues. Respond to complaints and escalate issues for prompt resolution. Cover daily operational tasks when short-staffed/ needed. Assume other responsibilities as assigned. Business Development Contribute to business development strategy, sales innovations and the overall profitability of the company. Present logistics services available to prospective and existing clients. Unearth new business opportunities and turn them into long-term partnerships. Help manage the company's finances to achieve financial goals. Responsible for facility P&L and budget preparation. Conduct periodic departmental audits. Stay aware of competitors, the market, expansion opportunities and new industry standards and development. Provide insight and information to support business development. Drive improvement to quality and cost control while expanding capabilities within the facility. Employee Development Ensure the daily pre-shift meetings cover previous shift issues, operational problems, and workload forecast. Ensure all new employees are properly onboarded and trained. Communicate department goals and individual performance expectations. Manage employee performance to achieve goal requirements. Resolve employee relation issues and implement disciplinary actions if needed. Expand a team at this branch based on sales, forecasts, and historical data. Travel to other branches for company meetings or training if needed. Safety and Security Ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the facility to meet service standards. Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures. Support and participate in all safety and compliance initiatives at the facility. Prevent incident and injury by overseeing accident investigations, coordinating on compliance matters, and implementing necessary improvements Qualifications Minimum five years of supervisory or management experience within trucking / CFS office and warehouse operations. Working knowledge of warehouse/trucking equipment. Experience interacting with various stakeholders, including customers, customs authorities, shipping agents, and government agencies. Proficient in TMS & WMS. Ability to support office and warehouse operations when necessary. Team leadership and project management experience. Excellent talent management, team building, and crisis management skills. Excellent crisis management skills and exceptional interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently. Proficient computer skills and professional communication etiquette. Availability to work extended hours as needed by customer/shipment. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Bilingual in English and Chinese (Cantonese/ Mandarin) a plus.
