The company offers a collaborative environment, strong leadership, excellent benefits, and long-term stability within a growing insurance platform.This position offers a hybrid schedule with three days in office and two remote.Position SummaryThe company is seeking a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager with direct insurance accounting experience. Property & Casualty insurance experience is strongly preferred; however, candidates from Life, Health, Specialty, or other insurance sectors will also be considered.The key requirement is a strong foundation within insurance accounting environments. Candidates without insurance industry accounting experience will not be considered.This role will support core accounting, reporting, and close activities within a multi-entity, multi-state insurance operation. Exposure to statutory reporting, premium accounting, and reinsurance accounting is highly valued.This is a hands-on role and does not include direct staff management responsibility.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform month-end and quarterly close activities within an insurance accounting environmentPrepare and analyze journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesSupport GAAP and statutory accounting reporting processesAssist with financial statement preparation and reporting requirementsWork with premium accounting data, insurance reserves, and related accounting activitySupport reinsurance accounting processes including ceded and assumed activities where applicableAssist with statutory filings and regulatory reporting requirementsPartner with internal departments including actuarial, underwriting, claims, treasury, and external auditorsMaintain strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policiesParticipate in process improvements and reporting enhancements across accounting operationsDesired BackgroundBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredCPA or CPA-track strongly preferredMinimum 3–7+ years of accounting experience within the insurance industry requiredProperty & Casualty insurance accounting experience strongly preferredExperience within Life, Health, Specialty, or other insurance sectors may also be consideredUnderstanding of statutory accounting and reporting strongly preferredExposure to premium accounting and reinsurance accounting considered major plusesExperience working within publicly traded or regulated insurance environments preferredStrong Excel and financial systems skills requiredAbility to operate in a detailed, deadline-driven reporting environmentCompany DescriptionLarge insurance company with Headquarters in Florida.Company DescriptionLarge insurance company with Headquarters in Florida.
