Ifyou'reready to make a real impactinthe energy and manufacturing sectors, we invite you to bring yourexpertiseand passion to our team.Job Summary: AMETEK Power Instruments is seeking a Field Service Engineer to offer aftermarket support for our Electronic Instruments used in the electric utility and industrial markets.The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing customers with technical support related to the application and use of our products. They also provide solutions to technical concerns on the assigned products both on and off a customer’s site by performing repairs, calibration, and maintenance.Key Responsibilities:Provide technical support for Power Instruments electric products as well as secondary products via phone, email, video conference and on-site service.Set up and test products to duplicate and verify customer reported issuesDocument product defects and liaise with product management, engineering and the customerProvide customers with quotations for spare parts, repairs, upgrades, field service and trainingTravel to customer sites and perform installation, commissioning and training on all productsGenerate field service reportsCreate training material for assigned productsGenerate, process and analyze Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and provide customers with detailed report of findingsRepair and calibrate equipment as neededConstruction of service test fixturesAssist the sales and product management teams with customer presentations and demonstrationsProvide backup support for the sales application team on technical specification review and generation of product quotesEnter and process spare parts and field service ordersOther service related duties as requiredMinimum Qualifications:Associate's degree in Electronics or related field or equivalent work experience required, for Technician level3+ years’ experience servicing and trouble‑shooting industrial electric equipment revenue metersUnderstanding of and ability to use trigonometry and algebra to solve problemsAbility to read and interpret schematic diagramsUnderstanding of various communication topologies and protocols; Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, Dial‑up ModemStrong user of Microsoft Excel as a data analysis tool; formula writingAbility to configure PC hardware/software for Ethernet and Serial communicationDesired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology for Engineer level5+ years’ experience servicing and trouble‑shooting industrial electric equipment revenue metersStrong written and verbal communication skillsDesire to learn and understand how things workOrganized and detail orientedSelf‑motivated requiring minimal directionStrong aptitude for problem solvingWhat’s in It for You:Competitive compensation, holiday pay, and paid time offGreat benefits package that includes health, vision, and dental insurance401(k), plus matchingFlexible spending accounts (FSAs), health savings account (HSA) with AMETEK contribution, life insurance, disability insurance, and family medical leavePaid parental leaveEmployee referral programTuition reimbursement programEmployee assistance programExciting, fast‑paced environment where you could make a true impactOpportunities for career advancement within our business unit and across all other AMETEK business entitiesAdditional Details: Location: This is a remote role.
