This role is built for seasoned professionals who thrive in high-pressure environments and are ready to respond to aircraft-on-ground situations anywhere, at any time.Position SummaryThe AOG Structures Technician performs advanced structural repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting on transport-category aircraft in both field and remote environments. Candidates must meet FAA Part 65 requirements and be prepared for immediate deployment in support of critical aircraft recovery efforts.Employees who do not hold an FAA certificate or do not meet FAR 65 requirements must comply with the STS Aviation Services U.S. Language Requirements Policy.Education And Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishValid Driver’s LicenseValid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) LicenseMinimum of 10 years of heavy aircraft structures repair experience on Boeing and Airbus aircraftPrior AOG field service experience requiredUnited States citizenship with a valid passportKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to pass an elevated, hands-on proficiency testAbility to read and interpret blueprints and parts fabrication drawingsAbility to read and apply Structural Repair Manuals and Aircraft Maintenance ManualsWillingness and ability to travel on short notice, within four hours of call-outWillingness to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and extended hoursAbility to work in remote and challenging environmentsStrong knowledge of damage classification, allowable limits, repair layout, and executionAbility to inspect, overhaul, repair, modify, and troubleshoot airframe parts, systems, and componentsAbility to perform work within estimated timeframes while meeting FAA and customer quality standardsEffective communication skills to assist Aircraft Engineers in developing repair solutions and modificationsAbility to fabricate parts and assembliesAbility to safely operate ground support equipment when qualifiedNature of WorkMust be available to work all shifts based on operational demandMust be capable of performing physically strenuous labor in field environmentsDesired CharacteristicsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to complete assignments accurately with little or no reworkAbility to interface effectively with management, engineering teams, and fellow techniciansClassificationFull-TimeHourlyNon-ExemptAbout STS Aviation ServicesSTS Aviation Services provides global aircraft maintenance, engineering, and modification solutions to commercial and defense customers.
