Digital Communications Coordinator

ABOUT THE ROLE:Signum Strategies is a professional political consulting and public relations firm serving government entities, public institutions, and mission-driven organizations across Alabama and beyond. We are seeking a talented, detail-oriented Digital Communications Coordinator to join our growing team.This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that sits at the intersection of graphic design and social media management. You will be responsible for producing high-quality creative content and managing the day-to-day digital communications presence for multiple government and institutional clients. You will work directly under the supervision of firm leadership and serve as a primary point of creative execution for our PR client portfolio.This role is not entry-level. Our clients are public-facing institutions whose reputations depend on the quality and consistency of every piece of content that carries their name. We hold our work to an exceptionally high standard, and we are looking for someone who holds themselves to the same.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:Graphic DesignDesign all client-facing graphics including social media posts, event flyers, press materials, announcements, and branded templatesMaintain brand consistency across all visual materials for each clientProduce original design work using Adobe Creative Suite — not template-dependent outputAdapt designs across multiple platforms and formats as neededManage multiple design projects simultaneously under deadlineSocial Media ManagementBuild and execute monthly content calendars for all assigned PR clientsWrite, schedule, and publish posts across all client social media platforms, primarily Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant channelsMonitor client social media accounts daily — responding to comments, tracking community engagement, and flagging sensitive or urgent matters to firm leadership immediatelyStay current on social media trends relevant to government, education, and public safety audiencesEngage authentically with each client's community in a voice consistent with their brand and public imagePhotographyAttend client events as needed to capture professional-quality photos for social media and communications useOrganize, edit, and deliver event photography in a timely mannerMaintain organized digital asset libraries for each clientFirm Brand & Internal CommunicationsManage and grow Signum Strategies' own social media presence across all platforms, maintaining a consistent, professional brand voice that reflects the firm's identity and expertiseCreate behind-the-scenes content that showcases the firm's work, culture, and team in action — giving audiences an authentic look at the people behind the brandCapture photo content at Signum Strategies events, client meetings, and firm activities for use across the firm's own channelsSupport the development of Signum Strategies' overall digital brand as the firm grows and takes on new clientsReporting & AnalysisProduce monthly analytics reports for each assigned client covering reach, engagement, follower growth, and notable activityTranslate data into plain-language insights that firm leadership and clients can act onTrack content performance over time and make proactive recommendations for strategy adjustmentsClient & Internal CoordinationCoordinate directly with firm leadership on all content strategy, client priorities, and deadlinesParticipate in client meetings as needed to present content calendars and monthly reportsMaintain organized project timelines and communicate proactively when timelines are at riskREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign — a portfolio demonstrating real design work is required. Template-based work will not be considered.Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts professionally — personal social media use does not qualifyStrong written communication skills — you will be writing captions, statements, and reports that represent government institutions publiclyBasic photography skills and comfort operating a camera at live eventsAbility to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously without sacrificing qualityHigh degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment — our clients are public officials and taxpayer-funded institutionsReliable transportation — client events require on-site attendanceSelf-starter with the ability to work independently during remote work days while remaining fully responsive and accountablePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Prior experience working with government, nonprofit, or institutional clientsFamiliarity with social media scheduling platforms such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or similarExperience producing basic video content for social media — Reels, short-form video, etc.Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field — equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degreeWHAT WE EXPECT:This role requires someone who takes ownership. You will be managing the public-facing digital presence of government entities, public institutions, and mission-driven organizations. The standards below are non-negotiable.Deadlines are non-negotiable. Content calendars go out on time, every month.Quality is non-negotiable. Every graphic that leaves this firm reflects our reputation as much as our clients'.Availability matters. When a client situation arises outside of normal hours, you need to be reachable.Discretion is mandatory. You will have access to sensitive communications and client information. Confidentiality is an absolute expectation of this role.COMPENSATION & GROWTH:Salary is commensurate with experience and portfolio quality. A 90-day performance review will be conducted, at which point compensation may be adjusted based on demonstrated performance.
