JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the set-up, programming and maintenance of computer numeric controlled production equipment.JOB REQUIREMENTSWorks on assignments that are typically routine in natureNormally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instruction on new assignmentsRelies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsMAJOR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)Set up and operates NC/CNC machines working from detailed blueprints, to perform a variety of machining operations, such as mill, drill, ream, punch, bore, turn, face, etcDevelop programs occasionally or edit programs as requiredDevise new tools and fixtures for unusual operations by making machine adjustments and grinding or sharpening existing toolsCheck dimensions on finished parts using a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, calipersPerform all other work-related duties as assigned SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to operate CNC machines working from detailed blueprintsAbility to pay attention to small detailsAbility to read blueprintsKnowledge of tools and clampingGood communication skillsWORKING CONDITIONSSitting occurs up to 5% of the timeLifting/carrying occurs approximately 80% of the timeStanding/walking on concrete floors occur approximately 100% of the time while performing various job dutiesReaching occurs at all levels with full or less than full extension of the armsHandling/grasping occurs approximately 75% of the time.
