This position is responsible for using Microsoft and other third party provided tools to support and maintain Division desktops, laptops, print devices, as well as Division and remote users to ensure optimal software and hardware performance, reliability, troubleshooting, and data security. This position works in a normal production/maintenance environment with exposure to temperature changes and loud noise. Major challenges include proper loading of material on trucks to maximize usage of space.Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to Communicate with customers, co-workers, company management, and employees to establish and maintain the Plant and Remote computer and user technical infrastructure.*This is an on-site position*Additional responsibilities of a PC Support Technician will include:Being responsible for the deployment and ongoing computer support of all Plant PCs and printersSupport 100+ laptop users (includes Plant and Remote)Administers the creation and maintenance of domain users and groups using Active DirectoryAdministers the setup and maintenance of Exchange email users and mailboxesManages the purchasing of all Division computer equipment and softwareRegular attendance expectedEnsures compliance with corporate software policies; especially with respect to ensuring the Division is purchasing legal copies of softwarePeriodic job related trainingSetup/modify workspace for new hires and employeesLifting up to 30 lbsEnters IT purchase orders into SAPSkills and requirements:Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school educationMinimum 4+years AD administration, desktop user support, and computer hardware supportCompTIA A+ certification is a plusBasic understanding of networking conceptsIn depth knowledge and experience working with all current versions of Microsoft desktop operating systemsBasic knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Active DirectoryExperienced using Microsoft Office applicationsExperience troubleshooting computer hardware problemsExperience performing computer minor hardware repairsExperience removing computer viruses and malwareSalary depends on qualifications and experience. The PC Support Technician annual salary starts at $63,045/year.
