Plant Operator - 2nd Shift Fine Grind

Build your career at US Aggregates!The Fine Grind Operator role will have the responsibility of maintaining production, maintenance, quality, and safety within the Aggregates' Operations function. This position is a part of our Fine Grind facility.This position is 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Please note that hours may vary based on business needs.Essential FunctionsWorking in a safe manner which includes wearing required PPE; following all of MSHA and MCC safety policies and reporting any safety issuesKeeping work area clean, safe and free of hazardous situationsPrepare materials for filling bags, trucks, and/or railcarsVerifying that final product is not contaminated and free of foreign particles. Reporting any such deficiency or observations to management and QA department is requiredCommunicating and assisting customers and/or haulers to ascertain that their needs are being metConducting daily documented inspection of equipment, confirming that it meets MSHA regulationsFollowing MSHA's and the company's procedures and best practicesDaily equipment needs and maintenance; Scheduling and communicating with the mechanics so the equipment will be ready for operation at the scheduled timeDirecting employees, vendors and contractors on daily tasks/activities that they are assigned to maintain Safety, Quality and efficient Productivity of the operationReceiving parts, delivering/storing parts in proper locations on siteMaking certain the packing slips/paperwork are initialed as received and submitted in a timely fashionContinuous communication with the Quality Assurance department to verify the plant is meeting the quality requirements and working with QA towards resolution to correct any issues that might ariseOperating various pieces of heavy equipmentPerforming laborer and cleanup dutiesPerforming various maintenance dutiesMay be called upon to assist with other duties not outlined which will be determined by the Management TeamAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.Education QualificationsRequired High School or EquivalentSkills And AbilitiesMust maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performanceFollow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on scheduleUnderstand basic mathWorking knowledge of US Aggregates Safety and Operating principlesComplete all applicable documentation, recordkeeping, and daily inventoryParticipate in safety briefings, job briefings, and any other pass on information from team members, management, or customerMust be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assignedFlexibility required; ability to work days, nights, weekendsPerform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirementsMust possess and exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently to get things doneStrong welding, torching, and maintenance skills preferredWorking Conditions/Physical DemandsMust have the ability to continuously stand or walk on level or uneven groundMust have the ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairways, and incline catwalks and work at elevated heightsMust have the ability to bend, crouch, and/or kneel at the waist or kneesMust have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry at least 50 lbs.Must wear all necessary PPE and safety equipmentMust have the ability to work outside the majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions including exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather.About US AggregatesUS Aggregates is a privately held, family-owned business headquartered in Indianapolis.
