Magazine State Park -PT35 County: Logan Anticipated Starting Salary: $35,610.02The Food Preparation and Service Worker assists in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food in a state facility. This entry-level position is responsible for preparing ingredients, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas. The role supports kitchen staff in ensuring that meals are prepared safely and served efficiently.Primary Responsibilities:Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring ingredients.Follow food safety protocols to ensure that all food is prepared and stored at the correct temperatures.Assist with cooking tasks, such as boiling, frying, or baking, under the supervision of kitchen staff.Serve meals to residents, employees, or clients, ensuring that portions are appropriate, and food is served at the correct temperature.Clean kitchen equipment, countertops, and utensils after use, maintaining a sanitary work environment.Restock serving areas and ensure that food is replenished as needed.Assist with maintaining food storage areas, ensuring that food items are properly stored and labeled.Knowledge and Skills:Basic knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen sanitation.Ability to follow instructions and assist with food preparation tasks.Ability to work efficiently and as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.Good communication skills for following directions and coordinating with kitchen staff.Minimum Qualifications:Exposure to kitchen or cooking experience.The State of Arkansas is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, citizenship, national origin, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other status or characteristic protected by law.
