Animal Food ManufacturingDrugs and Druggists' Sundries Merchant WholesalersRestaurants and Other Eating PlacesMiscellaneous Nondurable Goods Merchant WholesalersOffice Administrative ServicesDirector Of ProcurementThe Director of Procurement will oversee all sourcing and purchasing activities for our medical supplies; equipment company, ensuring that products are acquired cost-effectively, on time.This role is responsible for the management of all strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, contract management, and day-to-day purchasing operations.The ideal candidate combines a strategic mindset with hands-on execution skills, driving both cost savings and operational efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic SourcingDevelop and execute sourcing strategies for consumable medical supplies, DME, and ancillary healthcare products.Lead the identification and qualification of new suppliers to diversify the vendor base and mitigate supply chain risks.Negotiate and oversee long-term agreements that optimize pricing, quality, and service.Monitor market trends and product innovations to enhance product offerings and margins.Purchasing OperationsOversee daily purchasing activities to ensure timely and accurate procurement of goods.Approve purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in product codes, pricing, and quantities.Manage reorder points, safety stock levels, and lead times to avoid stockouts and overstock.Coordinate with warehouse and distribution teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.Vendor & Supplier ManagementMaintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality and service.Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.Cost Optimization & ReportingAnalyze spend data to identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities.Develop and track procurement KPIs, including cost savings, lead times, and supplier performance.Implement cost control measures without compromising patient care or operational efficiency.Compliance & Quality ControlCollaborate with billing and compliance teams to verify that purchased items meet reimbursement guidelines.Maintain procurement documentation to support internal audits and external inspections.QualificationsRequired:5+ years in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Proven experience in both strategic sourcing and purchasing operations.Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.Experience with ERP or procurement management systemsPreferred:Knowledge of DME, HME, and medical supplies market, including HCPCS coding and Medicare requirements.Familiarity with ISO quality management standards for medical products.Core CompetenciesStrategic planning and operational execution.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to balance cost savings with quality and compliance requirements.Leadership skills to mentor and develop a procurement team.Key Performance IndicatorsAnnual cost savings and margin improvements.Supplier on-time delivery and quality scores.Inventory turnover and fulfillment rates.Purchase order accuracy and cycle time.
