Microsoft Infrastructure Engineer/ Architect

Overview In this role you will lead design, engineering, and modernization of enterprise Microsoft infrastructure services to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure platforms. You will act as a senior escalation resource and partner with multiple teams to deliver highly available solutions. You’ll drive automation, security hardening, and operational maturity across Windows Server, AD, Entra ID, Exchange Online, M365, and VMware. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on impact, security, and continuous improvement. ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure platforms (Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, file services, identity services, VMware)Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps, standards, baselines, and runbooks for security, scalability, reliability, and business continuityLead modernization efforts, upgrades, migrations, and cloud integration across Microsoft and virtualization technologiesProvide technical leadership through project lifecycles from planning to operationsAct as senior escalation point for complex Windows, Microsoft 365, identity, and virtualization issuesImplement and maintain security best practices including hardening, patch management, access controls, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and complianceDevelop automation using PowerShell and other tools to improve efficiency and reliabilityManage and optimize VMware environments with capacity planning, lifecycle management, performance tuning, and high availabilityMonitor infrastructure health, availability, performance, and capacity; identify risks and opportunitiesSupport disaster recovery, backup, recovery, and business continuity for critical servicesCreate and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, runbooks, and knowledge base contentEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve security, resiliency, efficiency, and performancePartner with infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams to ensure integrated, business-aligned systemsMentor engineers and administrators by sharing best practices and promoting standard operations Key requirementshands-on technical leadershipsenior escalation experience for Windows, Microsoft 365, identity, and virtualizationexperience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, VMwaresecurity, patch management, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and complianceautomation experience with PowerShell or similar toolsability to plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and cloud integrationcollaborativestrong communicationmentoring/leadershipWindows ServerActive DirectoryMicrosoft Entra ID
