Job Title: Operations/Project Management - Business Analyst II.Job ID: 31843-1Location: Portland, OR (Remote)Duration: 12 monthsWork Mode: RemotePay Range: $80/hr - $90/hr Job Description: POSTION IS REMOTEKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop low voltage electrical estimates for data centre fit-out scopes (structured cabling, pathways, racks, containment, and associated systems)Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and translate them into detailed labour hour build-ups, productivity assumptions, and fully developed cost estimatesBuild parametric and conceptual cost models using limited inputs, including unit-based approaches (e.g., $/rack, $/MW, $/LF, $/port)Develop estimate line items, assumptions, and cost build-ups to support Class 4 and Class 5 estimates within a P70 contingency rangeOperate effectively in early-stage or incomplete design environments, developing estimates from minimal information Commercial & Contractor EngagementReview, level, and analyse GC and subcontractor bids/proposalsDevelop and defend "should-cost” positions using internal models and benchmarksChallenge labour assumptions, productivity rates, and markupsIdentify scope gaps, overlaps, and inefficiencies in contractor pricingSupport or lead commercial negotiations to drive competitive and transparent outcomesWays of Working (Critical)Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsAble to identify missing information, chase down inputs, and progress work independentlyTakes ownership of estimates from start to finish, including assumption validation and stakeholder coordinationWorks with limited oversight and high accountability Expected DeliverablesLabor-driven estimates based on BOMsParametric and conceptual cost modelsBid levelling and comparative analyses"Should-cost” models to support negotiationsAssumptions logs, risk assessments, and contingency recommendationsClear, executive-ready cost summaries Qualifications5-10+ years of experience in electrical estimating, with a focus on low voltage systemsProven experience in data centre or mission-critical fit-out projectsStrong capability in BOM-based estimating and labour build-ups, parametric modelling with limited design input, and negotiating with contractors and subcontractorsSolid understanding of low voltage installation methods, labour productivity, contractor pricing structures, and market dynamicsAdvanced proficiency in Excel-based cost modellingStrong communication and influencing skills Benefits:We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, well-being, and financial security of our employees and their families.
