Job Description Maintenance AssistantReports to: Facilities DirectorSupervises: No supervisory duties are included in this positionEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED required.One year of comparable work preferred.Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and ExpectationsWorking knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration and painting.Assists other engineering staff with repairs to locks, plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, minor carpentry work, etc.Reports major repairs to supervisor for correction.Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situationsJob Summary (Essential Functions)Responsible for ensuring that facilities are clean and in good operating condition. Including cleaning buildings and rooms, and performing general maintenance and repair of the building, grounds, and equipment.Job Tasks/DutiesPerform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenanceClean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the buildingComplete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisorComply with all safety and health regulationsKeep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisorRespond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairsDiagnose and troubleshoot issuesWork with and maintain relationships with contracted vendorsLicenses and Special RequirementsPhysical Requirement and Work EnvironmentRegularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.Frequent repetitive motions.Continuous standing and walking.
