Safety Engineer (Contract, On site)New Iron is seeking a Safety Engineer to support operations in a semiconductor manufacturing facility.This role focuses on ensuring adherence to safety standards, including 6S methodologies, in a dynamic production environment. 80% of your time will be spent on the fabrication floor.This is an on-site, contract position, in Phoenix, AZ. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.ResponsibilitiesConduct daily audits of assigned tool groups to maintain 6S compliance and ensure a hazard free working environmentVerify that barricading and signage are properly positioned and clearly readableReview completion of required documentationConfirm lockout/tagout (LOTO) hardware and safety interlock bypass indicators are properly applied and consistent with pre-task safety documentationConfirm interlock defeat tags are installed and align with supporting documentationReport deficiencies and communicate unresolved issues or violations to the designated Safety CoordinatorWork cross-functionally with on-site personnel to address issues beyond immediate resolution capabilityParticipate in incident investigations as neededRequirementsOSHA 30 (or higher) certificationStrong organization and reporting skillsExcellent communication skillsPhysical capability for extended standing/walking in a production facilityThis is a contract position.
