Sr. Support Engineer (Integration – DataStage)

Seeking an experienced ETL DataStage Consultant with expertise in development, administration, production support, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL processes, along with proficiency in Python and SQL scripting. Experience with Control-M, Managed File Transfer (MFT), and IBM Gentran is a plus. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our data integration processes. *Key Responsibilities:* * Understand requirements and implement ETL processes using DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from various sources. * Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. * Write and optimize SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval. * Manage and configure DataStage environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. * Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to ETL processes. * Implement security best practices for data handling and integration. * Provide support for production processes and troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise. * Monitor job logs and performance metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues. * Implement incident-management processes to ensure the timely resolution of production incidents. * Plan and execute regular maintenance activities, including system upgrades and patches. * Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards during maintenance activities. * Document processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing. * Utilize Python for scripting tasks related to data processing and automation. * Develop and maintain SQL scripts for data validation and transformation. * Work closely with business & technical teams, manage application support, track KPIs and SLAs. *Qualifications:* * Six years of proven experience in ETL development and administration using DataStage. * Solid understanding of Unix shell scripting, Cron jobs, and relational databases. * Strong knowledge of Python and SQL for implementing automation and platform improvements. * Lead and develop utilities & frameworks that automate functionality and environment checks. * Familiarity with Control-M, MFT, and IBM Gentran is a plus. * Strong knowledge of Sony’s ITSM processes and SLA expectations. * Knowledge of Agile delivery models and tools such as JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Clear communication skills and experience working in an onshore–offshore delivery model. * _Nice to have: Understanding of and/or hands-on experience with the Snowflake platform._ Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour Work Location: In person
