This is a benefited, full time position working 10-hr day shifts on varied weekdays, generally from 7:30am-6pm. Rotating day off each week. Located at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines in La Jolla. Why the Cancer Treatment Room? Torrey Pines clinic has been serving our San Diego coastal communities for several years. Our highly skilled Specialized Services RNs work in an innovative, welcoming, and patient-centered environment. The department consists of 25 chairs and do an average of 55-70 cancer treatments including oncology infusions and supporting treatments. The care team includes charge and resource nurses and resources, and you will work in close contact with the clinic provider and their team. Treating all malignancy types, we have a compounding pharmacy on site and are proud of our patient outcomes. What you'll do: Perform patient assessments and care tasks, including emergency procedures, medication administration, chemotherapy/biotherapy administration as appropriate. Educate patients and document patient interactions. Practice infection control. Contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within own scope of practice This position is eligible for New Hire Incentives up to $7,000 The following are not eligible for hiring incentives: Internal candidates Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago Candidates with less than 1 year of experience as an RN In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met: Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter) Must remain in original department/specialty Must remain in original Job Title Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter. Required Qualifications: ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate. Completion of accredited RN program. Minimum 1 year RN experience. Current CA RN license. Current American Heart Association BLS certificate. Hanging chemo experience. Preferred Qualifications: 1 or more years RN experience in an outpatient Oncology setting. Excellent IV skills and experience with central venous catheters. Outpatient chemo infusion experience.
