Hours worked beyond the standard schedule will be compensated at 1.75 times the regular hourly rate. At Trico Electric Cooperative, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Substation Technician to help ensure the safe and efficient operation of our electrical infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as a technical expert responsible for maintaining and repairing high-voltage substation equipment, inspecting transformers, and troubleshooting SCADA systems. You will play a vital part in keeping power flowing reliably to the communities we serve, while working alongside a team that values safety, precision, and forward-thinking solutions. What You Bring to Trico: A high school diploma or equivalent with the completion of a formal Journeyman Apprenticeship Program or minimum of 5 year’s work experience as a Substation Technician or in an acceptable technical field. Valid Driver’s License and the ability to acquire a DOT Medical Card Must be able to read, understand and draw electrical schematics (one-line and three-line diagrams). Knowledge of system map books, and electric distribution system layout, system substation capacities and load areas, substation circuit feeds and general system sectionalizing.
