Position hired for will depend on applicant qualifications. Other duties may be assigned:Instructs assigned online classesMaintains course to ensure alignment with current best online practicesFacilitates and modifies a program of study to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the studentsMaintains a positive and nurturing on-line environment that is developmentally appropriate and conducive to learningProvides targeted English Language Learner instruction to qualifying studentsSupports classroom teachers with English Language Learners integrated instructional timeCommunicates extensively with students and parents and shows written or electronic evidence of that communication at the request of the supervisorMaintains standards of online learning behavior and upholds district wide discipline and acceptable use policiesGuides the learning process toward the achievement of district curriculum goalsStrives to implement, through instruction and example, the district's philosophy of educationAssesses student accomplishments on a regular basis and provides progress reports as requiredComplies with all IEP, 504, & Special Education requirements as they pertain to enrolled studentsMaintains complete, accurate records required by law, district policy, & administrative regulationAssists the administration in implementation of rules and/or policies governing student conductMakes provisions to be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the regular instructional day when such encounters are required or requested under reasonable terms and as directed in the eCampus Guidelines and ProceduresAttends staff meetings and training sessions as requiredPerforms other duties as assigned or requiredKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, policies and proceduresKnowledge of applicable Peoria Unified School District and departmental policies and proceduresKnowledge of appropriate teaching strategies and methodsSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public and others having business with the school district.Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applicationsOTHER REQUIREMENTS:A valid intern, provisional, or standard Arizona Teaching Certificate; or possess the necessary qualifications to become certified in the state of Arizona. Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.Prefer to have taught the course at least one semester in a face-to-face environmentMust have internet access at home to check course and email studentsMay be required to work outside regular contract hoursMust be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance checkMust be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's licenseMay be required to travel to perform work functions
