Community Support Worker (CSW)
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, hardworking, empathetic and honest Community Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a passion for social work and educating individuals with mental health diagnosis towards making better decisions that will help build a more stabilized and positive lifestyle. Candidates must have patience and empathy to care for the clients in guiding them to develop a structural and consistent set of skills that will help them to become independent or maintain their independence.
Duties
Provide support and guidance to individuals in need
Educate clients on coping mechanisms and life skills
Conduct one on one sessions to review the client's progress
Mentor individuals to help them achieve personal growth, goals and development - Manage conflicts and provide resolution strategies
Work closely with children and adults with various mental health diagnosis in various settings
Requirements
Previous experience in social work or related field is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to empathize, listen, adapt and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Knowledge and experiences of various mental health diagnosis would be very helpful
Personal life experiences working with children and adults to overcome difficulties is beneficial
Must pass background check
Valid driver's license
Proof of auto insurance
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 32 per week
