Inventory Coordinator

Inventory Coordinator The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the organization, tracking, and distribution of construction materials and equipment across TD&I facilities. This role ensures accurate inventory levels, efficient material flow to construction crews, and proper organization of warehouse and yard spaces. This position combines hands-on material handling with administrative coordination, requiring strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills. The Inventory Coordinator works closely with management to improve inventory processes, support purchasing decisions, and maintain accurate records. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming material deliveries, including unloading shipments using appropriate equipment (forklift, dolly, or by hand) Track, manage, and reconcile inventory levels to ensure accuracy across all locations Prepare, verify, and fulfill material pick lists for construction crews Coordinate daily material distribution to field crews and ensure timely availability of supplies Maintain organization of materials, tools, and equipment across warehouse, yard, and multiple buildings. Monitor inventory for discrepancies, shortages, and excess or obsolete materials; report findings to management Travel to satellite yards or remote shop locations to assist with inventory organization and coordination Lead and support organization and efficiency improvement projects in warehouse and yard areas Utilize spreadsheets and internal systems to track inventory movement and reporting Assist with administrative and documentation tasks as needed Skills & Experience Required: Forklift certification or ability to become forklift certified. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Ability to communicate and report effectively, problem solving abilities. Good physical condition and stamina, able to work indoors and outdoors. Personal computer (PC) experience and familiarity with Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Basic overall computer skills. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor as needed. Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience as a materials or inventory specialist preferred. Prior construction or underground utility maintenance experience. Familiarity with operating construction tools and equipment. Basic knowledge of site preparation and excavation techniques. Possession or ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card. CDL with tanker endorsement (or willingness to obtain) for operating larger commercial vehicle combinations. Knowledge of traffic regulation and safety standards (MUTCD). Understanding of and compliance with OSHA 1926 Construction Safety standards. Work Environment: The job is predominantly outdoors, exposing workers to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow. Occasional exposure to chemicals used in the process. Work locations can vary from rural areas with rough terrain to urban settings with paved surfaces and heavy traffic.
