This year, Allegion also received Gallup’s With Distinction honor — a designation reserved for a select group of organizations that go above and beyond in building exceptional workplace cultures.Job Title: Pack DepartmentReports to: SupervisorPay Range $18.50-$24.95Pack Operators are responsible for working safely and completing 5S assignments, as well as using standard work processes for packing, filling and labeling cylinders in a productive manner in order to meet daily customer demands. In addition, Pack Operators will be expected to inspect parts for quality and correctness to ensure proper parts are being packed. Finally, they will be expected to let their Leads or Team Leaders know if they encounter any problems that will keep them from meeting these responsibilities.Coordinate orders and ensure they are packaged and labeled properlyPull inventory to be sent out to Metakote (SRI)Establish invoices and receive purchase order numbers with the assistance of the purchasing departmentWork with vendors to coordinate pick-up and delivery of SRI partsCoordinate the hanging of parts through powder coat and the unhang sectionView schedules, determine items to pack, identify order information, operate equipment, and make necessary inventory transactionsReceive and inspect plating qualityIdentify all parts and components per order to be platedComplete packing lists and maintain all required records utilizing computer technologies or manually as necessaryWork with inventory control to correct negatives and overagesAssemble plated arms and components and stage them by invoice and schedule date for pack linesStack pallets and arrange materials as neededMay perform other duties as assigned and extend into other areas as neededFollow safety regulations; keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly using 5S standardsFlexibility to work overtime as neededPerform tasks in a timely and accurate mannerAbility to communicate with internal customersKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to establish and maintain effective work relationshipsAbility to work effectively in independent situations and exercise good judgment to reach sound conclusionsAbility to use Kanban workflow for optimal build performanceAbility to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.Ability to read, interpret, and perform from various documents, including method sheets, assembly drawings, production reports, safety rules, blueprints, printed shop schedules, Kanban cards/boards, shipping orders, runsheets, partsheets, picklists, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals, etc.Ability to properly identify components and gain extensive parts knowledgeAbility to identify and obtain appropriate parts for workstation operationAbility to use CRT and data entry technologies (bar code, key entry); Ability to use computer applications including AS400 and MFGPROGeneral knowledge of machinery, specifically related to areas of responsibilityAbility to judge distances, spatial relationships, and perform visual and/or mechanical inspections; ability to distinguish colors and finishesBasic math and computer skillsAbility to perform jobs at the same or lower labor grade than current jobAbility to judge distances, spatial relationships, and perform visual and/or mechanical inspections; ability to distinguish colors and finishesPhysical RequirementsAbility to frequently lift up to 5 pounds, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and rarely lift up to 60 pounds.
