The RN will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment, focusing on patients transitioning from intensive care.Key Responsibilities Utilize clinical judgment skills to assess, diagnose, and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. Provide care within the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), managing a diverse patient population including those undergoing procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. Assist in the recovery and discharge processes, particularly for open-heart surgery patients. Specialize in caring for patients with congestive heart failure and those undergoing electrophysiology studies. Contribute to ongoing research efforts by collaborating with the NISUS research department on national clinical trials.Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in Stepdown care is required. Proficient in cardiac care and comfortable with EKG interpretation. Ability to float to similar units as needed. Current Michigan RN license required. Certification in ACLS and BLS is mandatory.Work Schedule 36-hour guarantee shift schedule. Every other weekend work is required.About the UnitThe Stepdown unit is a fast-paced environment that provides a range of medical surgical care including general and vascular surgeries, bariatric procedures, plastic surgeries, and serves as the hospital's stroke unit.
