General Manager Construction
We are seeking a seasoned leader to take the helm of our capital-backed enterprise in the commercial construction market. You will be the driving force behind our commercial launch and subsequent market expansion. This role demands a strategic operator with a proven track record of building a business unit and managing a full P&L.Core Mandates: Strategic Direction: Define and implement the go-to-market strategy and long-term growth plan. Financial Stewardship: Own the P&L, with a focus on achieving sustainable revenue growth and profitability. Operational Command: Oversee the entire project delivery chain, from initial bid and design through procurement and construction, ensuring operational excellence and client satisfaction. Market Leadership: Serve as the chief evangelist, leveraging your industry connections to secure key contracts and establish a dominant market presence. Organizational Development: Build a best-in-class team from the ground up, cultivating a culture of accountability, innovation, and safety.RequirementsQualifications & Requirements: Proven Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in the commercial construction industry, with a significant focus on pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB). Specific System Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience with Butler Buildings is strongly preferred. Deep knowledge of their systems, estimating software, and construction processes is a major advantage. Design-Build Acumen: A strong track record of successfully managing design-build projects, with a deep understanding of how to integrate design, engineering, and construction for maximum efficiency and value. Local Market Presence: Must be a resident of or have deep, established roots and a professional network within the Appleton, WI area. This is non-negotiable. Entrepreneurial Spirit: Must genuinely enjoy the challenges and rewards of a start-up environment. This includes being a hands-on leader who is comfortable with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats. Leadership & Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in a general management, operations, or project executive role with full P&L responsibility.
