Heavy Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Build What’s Next With CMC It’s what’s inside that counts. At CMC, the people inside our recycling centers, fabrication shops, mills, and offices power everything we build. Step into our plant as a Heavy Industrial Maintenance Mechanic and spend your days solving complex mechanical puzzles that keep steel manufacturing moving. A day in your boots You start with a safety huddle, then scan your work orders in SAP. A gearbox is running hot — you diagnose the issue with test equipment, verify tolerances with precision instruments, pull the unit with an overhead crane, and replace worn components. Later, you interpret a schematic to track an intermittent fault, document findings, and close out the job with clear notes and corrective actions. All day, you’re the teammate others rely on for craft skill, judgment, and calm under pressure. What you will take on Champion our CMC safety culture and actively participate in all safety programs and PPE practices. Troubleshoot mechanical systems, apparatus, and components using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to identify root cause. Use the SAP maintenance module to access documentation, record time, track parts, and capture corrective actions. Demonstrate reliable attendance, follow-through, and flexibility to meet production needs. Select correct grades/sizes for bolts, pipe, tubing, cable, and wire.
