We offer products and services which extend along the entire Rail Electrification value chain to improve the quality of everyday life for millions of people worldwide.Position Overview:The Assembler I plays a crucial role in the assembly of component parts for rail communications equipment. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and/or Team Leader. Responsibilities include assembling component parts using assembly prints and the Bill of Materials (BOM). Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure proficiency in all assembly tasks.What your day-to-day will look like:Knowledge and awareness of ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) environmentSelects components, such as transistors, resistors, relays, capacitors, and integrated circuits to populate PCBs (Printed Circuit Board).Be capable of twisting, bending, trimming component leads using hand tools.Solders wire leads and joints on underside of board, using soldering iron, to route and connect lead wires to board and between individual components.Proficient at soldering through-hole components into circuit boardsSurface mount experience necessaryRead, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.Utilize handheld and power tools such as a screwdrivers and hand-drillWork with Quality department to ensure the product meets quality standards.Wire crimping, stripping, and solderingPerform 5S activities and maintain equipment in proper working order, and improve work area cleanlinessPerform work in a safe and healthy manner; ensuring deviations to standard work instructions that will lead to quality, productivity, or safety problems are immediately identifiedIdentify and communicate ideas to team leaders that support improving the team's performance and the elimination of wasteParticipate in process improvement activitiesSupport other assembly teams when requiredDisplay professional conduct with customers and coworkersAttend training sessions as needed or requiredTo thrive in this role, you have:High school diploma or equivalent required1+ years previous electro-mechanical assembly experienceBasic soldering experienceBasic computer skills requiredGood oral and written communication skillsBasic math skillsProblem solving skillsWe would be impressed if you had:Minimum of one-year electronic manufacturing experience preferredElectronic component-level soldering skills for PCB assembly.IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, or IPC-A-620Why you'll love working for Siemens!11 paid holidays, 18 days of PTO401K - 6% company matchFreedom and healthy work-life balance Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, HSA/FSA, Commuter Benefits starting Day 1!We believe that each member of our team is accountable for making decisions, solving problems, and taking actions that contribute to long-term impact and financial success.We do the right thing.
