Financial Controller (Vernon Hills)

Position Summary - 3 days onsiteWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to join a global manufacturing organization in Vernon Hills. This role is responsible for leading all accounting and financial operations for the site, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and meaningful financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.The Controller will act as a key business partner to plant leadership, helping drive profitability, efficiency, and cost discipline across manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close processesPrepare and analyze financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reportingManage plant-level budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisLead cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysisEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controlsSupport audits and maintain strong internal control environmentPartner with operations, supply chain, and plant leadership to drive cost improvements and operational efficiencyHelp with Tax mattersOversee cash flow management, working capital, and capital expenditure trackingLead and develop accounting staff (AP/AR/cost accounting, as applicable)Drive ERP utilization, reporting improvements, and process automation initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing or distribution exposurePrior Controller or Assistant Controller experience strongly preferredStrong understanding of general accounting and financial reportingExperience working in a manufacturing or industrial environmentERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)Strong leadership, communication, and business partnering skillsWhat We OfferCompetitive salary: $130K–$155K baseBonus opportunity based on company and individual performanceComprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysOpportunity to join a stable and global manufacturing organization with strong operational investment
