Vitals Technician - Anniston

Job Purpose The purpose of the Vitals Technician is to help patients and physicians by obtaining information, providing services, and assistance. Essential Job Functions Obtain and record patient’s accurate height and weight on each visit. Obtain patient vital signs such as pulse, temperature, respiration, and blood pressure. Escort patient to room. Verify medication list with each Advanced Practice Provider’s visit. Adhere to annual CCI standards based on current criteria. Ensure all patient rooms are clean, sanitized, and prepared for the next patient appointment. Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal confidentiality and healthcare regulations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent listening skills. Strong computer skills and detail-oriented. Must be able to work as a team member, follow instructions, and communicate well with coworkers. Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to learn new tasks and make judgments. Education / Experience Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant certification preferred. Medical experience preferred. Working Conditions This position works in a busy oncology/hematology clinic. The role involves direct patient contact, including some patients who are very ill. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for long periods of time, up to eight hours a day. Must be able to lift and assist patients as needed. Direct Reports This is not a supervisory position.
