Our values are Compassion, Innovation, Community, Hope, Respect and Inclusion, Accountability and Integrity, and Safety.SummaryThe Benefits/Insurance Navigator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of application for benefits, specifically insurance and general assistance, in the RS EDEN Recovery Services programs. Flexibility, effective time management practices, and sound organizational skills are necessary. Must have strong customer services skills, empathy, ability to work through crisis situations in a professional, therapeutic and positive manner. This position includes light lifting and sitting for long periods of time. This position is classified as a category 3 driving position.Pay range: $23.00-$26.00 per hour$1,000 hiring bonus!ResponsibilitiesUnderstand insurance navigation, benefit application, county systems, and the behavioral health fundMaintain professionalism with county relationships and current participantsUtilize empathy to support clients throughout the benefit application processComplete and maintain training needed to become a CAC insurance navigator through the countyMaintain up to date information related to eligibility for insurance and various county and state benefitsUnderstand all relevant program policies and procedures and how they interact with participant insurance and other benefitsAssess new client immediate needs upon admission with regards to benefits and communicate this to relevant staffAbility to accurate assist participants in filling out all submission forms needed to obtain benefitsMaintain current information regarding applications forParticipate in staff meetings and training as required or directedManage the processing and procurement of funding for all admissions and the collection of documents for incorporation into client filesUnderstand and follow vulnerable adult, incident/accident policy and reporting proceduresSafeguard personally identifiable health information (PHI) in accordance with duties and current agency HIPAA an 42CFR notification statement and standardsSupport the Admissions Supervisor in meeting department goals for census and service deliveryPerforms other duties as requiredQualifications/RequirementsRequired:2-yr. degree in social services or related field, or equivalent training and experience preferredExperience with insurance, general assistance, SNAP, and other county and state benefitsExperience with the behavioral health fundCurrent Mantoux test. (Annual requirement thereafter)Must be able to pass applicable favorable criminal history/background checkOne year off correctional supervisionPreferredCPR/First Aid trainingExcellent communication and time management skillsStrong computer skillsFamiliarity with Procentive or other EHR systemsAbility to convey a positive, courteous and professional imageAbility to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple individual and systemic barriers to successJoin a team whose innovative work addresses the complex and intersecting challenges of addiction, homelessness, disability, poverty, and criminal justice involvement.
