*MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLER AND BUILDER*
Bancroft Engineering is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Assembler and Builder. This key role will work with a talented team to construct a variety of customized welding machinery. We take on projects that start as standard automated welding machines, but often become highly customized to suit our customers' specific processes. *SUMMARY:*
Fabrication, assembly, and wiring of custom and standard automated welding machines. Primary responsibility is to read/interpret/assemble mechanical and electrical prints. You will be expected to perform other shop related tasks such as saw, shear, bend, among other things. Welding and toolroom/machining experience are a huge bonus!
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Assemble large and small mechanical and electrical systems.
* Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical blueprints and schematics
* Uses drawings or work order to pick material and cut at saw to proper length.
* Operates machines, such as arbor presses, mills, lathes, drill presses, bench grinders, saws, shear, bender, pipe threader, forklifts, and overhead cranes to perform assembly of standard products or custom machines.
* Knowledgeable in machine assembly techniques to ensure proper fits, clearances, finishes, travels, limits, lubrications, etc.
* Makes sure work areas are clean and well organized on a daily basis to eliminate safety hazards and present the best image for Bancroft.
* Able to work in an organized, safe, and productive manner
*EXPERIENCE:*
* Three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*LANGUAGE SKILLS:*
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blue prints and procedure manuals.
* Ability to document on drawings changes made and communicate to engineering.
* Ability to speak professionally and effectively in front of customers.
*CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:*
* Driver's License
*OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:*
* Ability to understand production machines such as mills, grinders, lathes, drill presses, forklift, overhead cranes, sanders and saws
* Ability to read calipers/micrometers
* Ability to use a wide variety of hand and power tools.
* Ability to understand and operate various computer programs as required
* Ability to spot potential safety problems and recommend corrective action
* Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions
* Ability to lift up-to 50lbs
* Ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time
*COMPENSATION:*
* Pay is based on experience; $18-$26 per hour.
